Nambugbog ng isang sibilyan si ang isang bagitong pulis na si PO1  Jose Jolious Iguiron Tandong sa loob ng Barangay Hall ng San Jose, Mandaluyong City. Makikita sa video na matapos mangatwiran si Marvin Calda at ang kasama nitong si Macgalen Villanueva na "bakit niyo kami poposasan eh wala naman kaming kaso" at "kung titicketan niyo kami eh di ticketan niyo kami" pinaghahataw ni PO1 Tanding si Villanueva gamit ang isang batuta.  Pinagpapalo ng pinagpapalo ni PO1 Tanding si Villanueva hanggang sa lumabas ito ng pinto habang ang isa pang pulis na si PO1 Chito Enriquez ay nanonood lamang. Nambanta pa si  PO1 Tanding na puputukan ang dalawa ng baril pagkatapos ay binunot ang kanyang baril. Hinuli ang mga sibilyan sa hindi pa malamang dahilan.

Ang lahat ng pangyayaring ito ay nakunan ni Calda sa pamamagitan ng isang cellphone video. Ang videong nakuha ay naipakita naman kay PNP General Bato Dela Rosa. Dahil dito, pinadala ni Gen. Bato si  PO1 Tandong sa Marawi City.

Humaharap ngayon sa kasong police brutality si PO1 Tandong matapos itong ireklamo ng dalawang sibilyan. Ang iba pang maaring ikaso sa dalawang pulis ay Physical Injuries dahil sa mga natamong bugbog at sugat ng mga sibilyan. Maari ding makasuhan si Tandong ng Grave Threats dahil sa pagbunot nito ng kanyang baril at pagbabantang babarilin ang mga sibilyan.

Si PO1 Tanding ay nagtapos ng BS Criminology sa Pamantasang Lungsod ng Muntinlupa at pumasa sa licensure exam noong 2013.

Wasp Nests: Rejuvenates The Vagina?

It seems like some people are willing to put up with anything for the price of beauty... down there.

This particular potion to tighten the vagina consists of wasp nests or oak galls which are ground into a paste and placed in the vagina until it dries up like a face mask. It purports to rejuvenate and restore the elasticity, firmness and shape of the organ due to daily wear, age or childbirth. 

Some sites which swear by the effectiveness of wasp nests even cite studies from The National Center for Biotechnology Information and also the Indian Journal of Pharmacology on the effectiveness of the active components in wasp nests.

Due to the hype, many online sellers including Etsy are selling oak galls.

Oak galls are formed when a wasp infests an oak tree bud producing round formations known as oak galls. The galls are actually nests made by the oak tree itself in response to the wasp laying eggs. The galls serve as shelter and food for the growing wasp larva until it turns into an adult.

However, the hype invoked the ire of many gynecologists and obstetricians claiming that the remedy is dangerous. These doctors are similar in their medical opinion that ground wasp nests have no proven medicinal value. When applied to the vagina it may dry up its protective mucous lining, kill off good bacteria and lead to abrasions. In worst cases it may cause infections and increase the risks of contracting HIV.

In spite of the warnings, it seems that there are commercial preparations of vaginal tighteners which contain extracts of wasps nests, witch hazel and other organics. These beauty products are far less unsightly and more fragrant than stuffing some wasp nest paste down there.

New Pictures of Jupiter - a 2nd Sun?

Everyone knows that Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. But is it a planet or a star?

On July 4, 2016, NASA's Juno spacecraft entered Jupiter's orbit. Armed with state of the art camera's, NASA's science team lead by Scott Bolton were pleasantly surprised beyond their expectations. Stunning images were captured in abundance and papers were written and published.

It was determined that, contrary to previous predictions Jupiter's magnetic filed was twice as strong as expected. There were also stunning auroras a-glow on Jupiter's poles which appear like pastel colored cyclones.

Jupiter's body is equally violent with swirling storms of dark light and pastel colors. A glimpse within Jupiter's atmosphere reveals ammonia emanating from deep within the planet which the science team deemed to may be the cause of the violent weather systems in Jupiter.

Jupiter's moniker as a failed sun is came from the elements of hydrogen and helium that pervade both the planet and our Sun. However, Jupiter is much much smaller than the Sun for which reason, there is not enough internal pressure within Jupiter to cause Hydrogen to fuse to Helium which is fuels the Sun's energy.  It is theorized that during the birthing process of our solar system, the Sun grabbed much of the mass the Jupiter could have which is why we only have one sun. (To restate Dr. Alex Rudolf, professor of Physics at California State University)

In 1995, NASA decided to crash the Galileo spacecraft into Jupiter. Galileo had a Plutonium thermal reactor which scientists feard would ignite Jupiter into becoming a second Sun. Since we do not have a second star at present, the cataclysm obviously didn't happen.

However, there are still some scientists who theorize that Jupiter's mass is enough to sustain a deuterium fusion reaction and ignite the gas giant. The problem or redemption lies again with Jupiter's mass - it will take 13 times more of Jupiter's mass for it to become a brown dwarf star.

For now, Jupiter remains a gass giant planet.

The Original Vampire-werewolf Hybrid

Cryptozoology is the study of creatures that exist in the middle of fact and folklore. It mainly focuses on evidence of a creature's existence, relying much on anecdotal reports of those who have seen them.

In Cryptozoology, there is a ghoulish creature known as the Aswang which is the most famous cryptid in the Philippines. The Aswang was fist documented in the early 1500's (way before the Werewolf-Hybrid concept which Hollywood popularized in the Underworld movies). It has no definite counterpart in the western culture, however, it does possess characteristics akin to a vampire and werewolf.

In the day, the Aswang is as ordinary as anyone. It mingles with the crowd usually in remote rural towns. It is only when twilight turns into night, when darkness creeps and rule, that they can summon their powers of transformation, turning at will into monstrous dog-like creature with or without bat wings, wild boars, humanoid bats, or other ghoulish humanoid forms. It has an appetite for human heart, liver, blood and considers unborn fetuses as a favorite delicacy. The full moon enhances the Aswang's senses and predatory features which include claws, fangs and a meaty hollow tongue that elongates to pierce through a pregnant woman's belly and eat her unborn baby.

The Aswang is vulnerable to garlic, salt (for the tongue), beheading, wooden stake, holy water, blessed palm or palaspas and crucifixes.

Originally thought of as mythical creatures, occasional sightings and encounters with the Aswang and its victims are reported in the Philippine news media outlets.

Dave Dewall  or "The Kano", an American based in the Philippines tells in his website tales how his housemaid's mother-in-law is an aswang and of an eyewitness report of previous attack of an Aswang on his wife's relatives.

In 2008, Jordan Clark a Canadian documentary film producer made a documentary entitled "The Aswang Phenomenon".

Game of Thrones S7 Leaks, Spoilers, Theories...

The fantastic epic that had geeks and muggles alike on the edge of their couches is poised to commence its seventh run.  Ordinarily, a GOT season starts on April but this time, the target release date is July 16, 2017 Sunday at 9pm US ET on HBO. Winter is coming not on spring but in summer. To console viewers on the later release date, the showrunners promise a lengthy 59-minute premier and 81-minute finale episode.

The first episode of season 7 promises the commencement of "the great war" between the living and the undead Whitewalkers. It is but appropriate that the terrifying Night King    will play a major role.

The trailer is pretty exciting and straightforward - Jon Snow fighting the Whitewalkers, gigantic dragons and Beric Dondarrion wielding a flaming sword.

Beric's flaming sword is significant - the trailer fortells that Beric might be "The One Who was Promised" who wields a flaming sword named "Lightbringer" and who will lead the people out of the darkness which is the battle with the Whitewalkers. Of course, Melissandre and Kinvara, both priestesses of light predicted that Jon and Danaerys, respectively, was "The One Who was Promised".

But considering that Beric is already dead in George R. R. Martin's book at this point, it may be that  Beric may very well die during the battle leaving Jon to wield Lightbringer.

Enter the dragons with massive Drogon and his posse Viserion and Rhaegal. Res ipsa loquitur. To be more accurate, the things speak for themselves. No wonder Dany gets her own throne in Season 7.

Could Khal Drogo be back as he was spotted in Ireland with the GOT showrunners and even teased a pic with Kit Harrington on IG? Perhaps these were just publicity stunts but the prospect is exciting indeed. At the very least, a flashback which would be a bummer.

Bomb-sniffing Puppies

 

Do not be fooled by their easy-going demeanor. These pups -  Lucky Star, Schumann, Feida, Brother, AJ and Full Moon are training to become top dogs in  Taiwan's National Police Authority Anti-Bomb and Drugs Task Force.

The puppies come from a legacy of Police Dogs,  their mother, Yellow being already deployed in Taiwan's National Police Agency Anti-Bomb and Drugs Task Force and their father, Leader is a sniffer dog too.

For now, the puppies, which are barely over a month old are more occupied in learning the basics like walking, sleeping, eating, playing and practice-barking. “Sometimes, [Lucky Star] would fall asleep while eating, and then he would wake up suddenly and carry on eating like nothing happened. How could people not love something as cute as that?” asks Captain Pan from Taiwan’s Police.

For now, these pups have a bit of growing up to do before they unleash their puppy power to fight crime and save the world.

The puppies and their parents are Labrador Retrievers. Labradors are one of the most popular breed of dogs in the US and UK. By nature, they are good-tempered, intelligent and hard-working dogs. Historically, Labradors were used as companion dogs for hunters to retrieve prey like fowl and fish and were even used for hauling nets and ropes.

These days, Labrador Retrievers are still a widely utilized breed. Aside from being a popular pet and companion dog, Labs are still used for hunting, provides assistance to handicapped persons, used as therapy dogs, and police dogs used for search and rescue.

Some famous people who are furrents to Labradors are Drew Barrymore – Flossie (Yellow Labrador/Chow mix), Dick Cheney – Jackson (Yellow Labrador) , Bill Clinton – Buddy (Chocolate Labrador), Minnie Driver – Bubba (Black Labrador), Kevin Costner – Yellow lab and Sarah McLachlan – Rex (Black Labrador).
